Max Power Live Show - Rustlers
The Exentio creative design team have stripped down an old ice cream van at our production
site in Manchester and have converted it into a working kitchen with fridges and
microwaves and branded it with the Rustlers Logo. We’re at the Max Power Live
Show to sample burgers and hot dogs to our target audience of 17 – 24 year
old males. We’re working in a team of 5 with 2 brand ambassadors working in
the Rustlers Van preparing the food to sample to the consumers and the rest of us
out on the exhibition floor enticing guys over to the van to try a sample and talking
about the convenience of the product in their every day lives. As a feature attraction
our production team have stripped out a Peugot 306, branded it Rustlers and converted
it into a 17-24 year old boys dream with top of the range alloy wheels and a gaming
station with flat screen TV in the front seat!
Southampton Boat Show – Tanqueray Taste Challenge
At last years 2006 Boat Show the Exentio promotions team ran a large branded sampling
tent containing comfy seating areas and a full size bar where an array of
cocktails were sampled to show goers.
As part of the sampling team the main aim during the 10 day show was to involve
as many people with the Tanqueray taste challenge as possible. We sampled the consumer
with our product and a known competitor to see if they could ‘taste the difference’
following up by explaining the key brand messages of our product and actively selling
Tanqueray to customers at a reduced price on the day. Working in a team of 12 we
rotated duties throughout the day: Working the bar mixing cocktails, walking round
the show encouraging people to visit the stand, re stocking the bar, talking up
the product with the consumer and listening to their feedback
The Eden Project
Quinn’s is a 100% naturally fermented alcoholic fruit drink so what better
location than going to the Eden Project in Cornwall to sample this product. As part
of the dedicated Quinn’s team we have visited lots of outdoor concerts throughout
the summer but the highlight this year for me was working at the Eden Project in
its magical surroundings. Snow Patrol were playing live on stage and once our production
crew had help us set up our bar and sampling wheelbarrows we set to work pouring
samples of our new 3 flavours and offering a taste sample to concert goers. We start
work at least 2 hours before the concert so we have enough time to engage with consumers
and talk to them about the new brand and find out their thoughts on the new product.
At the end of the evening we help clean and break down the bar and feed back any
anecdotal comments to our Manager for his daily report.
Lucozade Sport Brand Ambassador – London Marathon
On the morning of the event staff arrive at the venue dressed in the full Lucozade
Sport Brand Ambassador Uniform.
On arrival staff report to the Event Manager who conducts a short staff briefing
then assigns each of us to our various locations for the day i.e pace band stand,
race predictor, sampling desk, roamers etc.
We then all muck in to ensure that all of the finishing touches have been completed
with regards to the set up of the stand – even a bit of cleaning from time
to time!
Our key objectives for the day are:
- To represent the brand by being friendly approachable and proactive;
- Encourage participation in the Lucozade Sport event;
- Educate consumers on the benefits of Lucozade Sport;
- Create a positive brand image and convey enthusiasm.
As the runners begin to arrive, we then take our positions and begin to engage and
interact with them. We meet and greet them, distribute samples, encourage participation
on the BMI machines and Hydration models, data capture consumer details and provide
them with relevant advice and information for their race.
As the race begins we continue to re-stock the leaflets and samples ready for the
end of the race. We transform the Event Stations to their post event set-up which
consist of bean bags and stretch mats etc. and when the runners return we distribute
recovery sachets and provide recovery advice.
At the end of the day we all assist with the break down of the event stations, feedback
any information or queries to the Event Manager and then receive a final staff de-brief
before we leave.
