Nadia
Nadia joined CPM in May 2001 having previously managed her family retail fish outlet
and worked as a supervisor in a major supermarket. Her first role was working twenty
hours a week as a Sales Advisor on the Gillette team. The account then moved to
a full time operation that brought the opportunity to apply for a manager’s position
in 2003 Nadia became Business Development Manager. During 2005 she was seconded
to the position of Channel Development Manager which has now lead to her taking
on the role of Client Service Manager looking over a large field team on behalf
of Procter and Gamble
Deanne
Being an actor/dancer, promotional work is an ideal career for Deanne as work can
be fitted in around her temporary acting jobs and auditions. Deanne first joined
the CPM field team as a brand ambassador during summer 2002 after a successful interview
with our recruitment team. Working from inside a converted ice cream van, Deanne
along with her team manager toured around Asda stores in the South of the UK preparing
pasta with Dolmio to sample to shoppers! The team were armed with money off coupons
and spent their days encouraging shoppers to buy Dolmio during their weekly shop
and increasing sales within the store. Following a successful first campaign Deanne
was soon offered more promotions work and her career has since spanned some 5 years
with the company. Having started off as a brand ambassador and more recently taking
on the role of Event Manager for the first time in spring 2006.
We asked Deanne what her highlights have been since working for the company and
a few jobs came to mind. Sampling Quinn’s a new alcoholic fruit drink to consumers
at the James Blunt concert at Blenheim Palace was amazing fun, we also sampled at
the Westlife concert at Chatsworth House. It’s really great fun being part of a
dedicated brand team travelling round the country spreading news about the new product.
Lots of people had seen the funky new advert on television so instantly recognised
us – It was like being famous!

Joanne
Joanne joined CPM on a part time basis in 1997 coming from a background in retail
and catering. For the first two years of her CPM career Joanne worked twelve hours
a week on our contract with Post Office Counters. She increased her part time hours
to twenty four in 1999 and then in 2001 took on a new role with what was then CPM
Retail Services working across a variety of clients and brands. Within three months
Joanne took on full time hours, Retail Services became what CPM now call Syndicated
Services and Joanne worked as a Sales Advisor until September 2003 when she was
promoted to Team Leader. Joanne is now on her 10th year at CPM and has been a Manager
with the Syndicated Services Team since February 2004.

Jonny
I am mad about football, I swear allegiance to Sunderland AFC and I have been playing
for nearly 14 years. I started out kicking a ball around the park with my Dad and
by age 16 I was playing for my local county. I‘m currently studying at University
so when the Staffing Team at TRO phoned me to ask if I wanted to get involved
with Nike and the ‘Joga Bonito’ Tour I jumped at the chance. Joga Bonito is Brazilian
for ‘Play Beautiful’ and I think Nike thought long and hard about how to engage
with kids at grass roots level and challenge them to play ‘beautiful football’.
Our main aim was to tour round local areas and interact with as many footballers
as possible. We drove a branded jeep with a huge wire cage on the back filled with
Nike futsal balls (slightly heavier ball designed to practise skills with). We visited
local parks, schools and sports grounds and initiated 3v3 games of football. Everyone
that joined in received a free futsal ball. This first stage of the Joga Bonito
tour was designed to inform kids about local events leading up to a national 3v3
final at Highbury. The media mix was amazing and we were promoted on TV, Press and
Radio. A superb job and I got paid for it!
